Dr. Bartholomew Wolper was a psychologist at the Arkham Home for the Emotionally Troubled and the author of bestseller Hey, I'm Okay.
Biography[]
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1[]
Dr. Bartholomew Wolper treated Harvey Dent at the Arkham Home for the Emotionally Troubled, helping to restore Dent's sanity. He stood by Dent at his press conference and was publicly thanked for what he had done.
After Harvey Dent's return to crime, Wolper appears on television stating that he believed Dent was innocent and that Batman was the true villain as his reappearance drove people with a weak psychosis like Dent to fight him.
After Batman fought the Mutant Leader, Dr. Wolper spoke about his return and how it would have a negative impact on society.
Dr. Wolper publicly stated that he believed Batman was a menace and encouraging others to rise up and commit crimes.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2[]
Bartholomew Wolper was pleased with the Joker's progress as he had returned from his vegetative state because he had something to aim for. The Joker fooled Wolper into thinking that he was upset because no television hosts would want to talk to him. Wolper arranged for the Joker to go on the David Endochrine Show.
Wolper escorted Joker onto the show and sat with him as he was interviewed, regularly defending Joker and blaming everything he had done on Batman. Joker smashed the mug he was holding and cut Dr. Wolper's throat, killing him live on television.
