Basil Karlo was a terrible actor who used a toxin to be able to change his appearance, turning into Clayface and enjoying the media coverage, also going mad with jealousy over the apparently-more popular Batman.

The Batman/Superman Story[]
Clayface, along with Bane and Mr. Freeze, is in the employ of Black Mask, who has teamed up with Lex Luthor and kidnapped Lois Lane as bait for a trap to lure in Superman.
Powers[]
- Shape-Shifting: After ingesting a chemical substance derived from Ethan Bennet's body, he became capable of shapeshifting his body, and in ways more advanced than Ethan could, such as creating rotating drills.
