Darla Dudley is the foster sister of Billy Batson and Freddy Freeman.

Darla was in Billy's room with Freddy and caught him in the act of snooping back into their foster home. She and Freddie followed Billy down the hall as the latter stormed out in annoyance. Darla suspected Billy of going to a football game with Freddie validating her suspicion. Darla told Billy that she was worried about him before complimenting his jersey and dismissing his claims that he stole it. Going down the stairs, Darla voiced her concerns to Billy every time he disappeared, akin to a normal family. Billy coldly reminded Darla that they were just a foster family. In the kitchen, when Freddie let an incredulous Billy know about the news of monsters grabbing people off the streets, she and Freddie left him be to his arrogant indifference.
Later, a Parademon rampaged through the foster home's backyard with Billy confronting it with a wooden bat and becoming Shazam. The electrical surge alerted Darla and Freddie to run outside to witness their foster brother as the divinely imbued superhero. After he flew off with a smirk, Darla and Freddie were left stunned.
