The Fortress Key is a key that unlocks the Fortress of Solitude that was carved from a piece of dwarf star material making it so heavy that only Superman can lift it.
History[]
All-Star Superman[]
Superman used the key to unlock the Fortress when he revealed to Lois Lane that he was really Clark Kent. She commented that it couldn't be safe so he told her to try it. She wasn't able to lift it and Superman explained its origin to her.
Later, Bar-El and Lilo used the key to let themselves into the Fortress whilst Superman was away, rehoming the Bottle City of Kandor.
