Sarah Essen-Gordon was the wife of former Commission of Gotham City Police Department, James Gordon.
Biography[]
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2[]
Sarah Essen-Gordon attended the ceremony where her husband, James Gordon, officially handed the role of Commissioner over to Ellen Yindel. He gave a speech and voiced his opinion on Batman and acknowledged Sarah as someone he personally wanted to fight for and protect.
After Yindel called Jim asking for information on Batman, Sarah sent him to fetch groceries. She then watched the Special Report on television from the President. A fire began to spread through Gotham and Jim tried to find Sarah, fearing the worst as his apartment burned. Sarah had gotten to safety and embraced her husband.
Later, Sarah attended Bruce Wayne's funeral.
