Sol is the yellow sun in the center of the Milky Way galaxy, home of the planet Earth.
History[]
All-Star Superman[]
Leo Quintum piloted the first ever manned mission to the sun. However, it was sabotaged by Lex Luthor who remotely controlled one of the clones from Earth. Superman rescued the mission, over charging his cells with pure energy in the process.
After Lex survived the electric chair, his partner was revealed to be Solaris who infected the sun, turning it blue so that humans would worship Solaris and depend on him for heat. Solaris also turned the sun red so that Superman would be powerless but Superman wore a suit that protected him from the red radiation. After Solaris and Lex were defeated the sun began to die. Superman, the energy overwhelming his body, flew into the sun to reignite it and save Earth.
