The Sun-Eater was found by Superman in orbit near Jupiter. He brought it back to the Fortress of Solitude to look after it.
Biography[]
All-Star Superman[]
Superman showed Lois Lane the Sun-Eater when giving her the tour of the Fortress of Solitude. She asked what he fed it and Superman replied suns, demonstrating by creating small suns on his Cosmic Anvil and feeding them to the Sun-Eater.
Superman returned the Sun-Eater to space and cleaned out the pit he was keeping it in.
When Solaris took over the sun, Superman tried to fight him and the Sun-Eater came to help, trying to eat the sun, Solaris was too powerful and destroyed the Sun-Eater.
