After Edward Nashton was admitted in Arkham in the aftermath of the flooding in Gotham, the Joker made friends with him.

Behind the scenes

• Before Barry Keoghan's role in the film was finally revealed, Warner Bros. issued a press release that listed him playing Officer Stanley Merkel instead of The Joker.
• A scene where the Batman interrogas the Joker to learn more about the serial Killer known as Riddler was cut from the film, but was later released via the promotional website rataalada.com, which releases material canon to the film's universe.

Trivia

• Although the character was unnamed and was kept in shadow in the film, being only credited as "Unseen Arkham Prisoner", director Matt Reeves confirmed in an interview that he was indeed the Joker.
