Zor-El is a survivor of Krypton and lives on Argo City in the Phantom Zone. He is the father of Kara Zor-El, known to the people of Earth as Supergirl. He's also the brother of Jor-El, and thus he's the uncle of Kal-El (Superman).

- Kryptonian Physiology: As a Kryptonian, Zor-El's alien body adapted to Earth's atmosphere and gravity and absorbed the yellow radiation emitted by the sun. This process of adaption would have gained Zor-El superhuman powers. However, this never happened as he wasn't ever exposed to a sun different to the the Kryptonians' natural red one, due to being stuck in the Phantom Zone.
